What is linkedin hashtags?
Definition: Hashtags are tags that group posts by topic. On LinkedIn their weight has steadily fallen: today they mainly work as a context signal for the algorithm rather than a discovery channel for users.
For years the advice was three to five hashtags at the end of a post. That still holds, but for a different reason than originally: almost nobody browses tags any more, while the algorithm does use them to understand what your post is about and who to show it to.
So the choice matters more than the count. Very generic tags drop you into a stream where you compete with thousands of posts; tags specific to your niche describe your content better and help it reach the people it suits.
A common mistake is placing them inside the text. They interrupt reading and, being links, pull attention exactly where you need it to stay.
