What is linkedin newsletter?

Definition: A LinkedIn newsletter is a recurring publication people subscribe to from inside the platform. Its advantage over a normal post is that each new issue sends a notification to every subscriber.

That notification is what makes it different. A post depends on the algorithm deciding to show it; a newsletter issue lands with whoever subscribed, with nothing in between.

The cost is commitment. A newsletter published whenever you feel like it loses the effect quickly, because people subscribed expecting a rhythm. And unlike a post, deleting it or changing topic has visible consequences.

One limitation worth understanding before you start: the subscriber list belongs to LinkedIn, not to you. It does not export. If you ever want to move that audience to your own email, you will be rebuilding it from scratch.
