What is linkedin ssi?
Definition: The Social Selling Index (SSI) is a 0-100 score LinkedIn calculates across four pillars: establishing your professional brand, finding the right people, engaging with insights, and building relationships. Each pillar contributes up to 25 points.
SSI is calculated by LinkedIn and cannot be reproduced from outside: any tool claiming to «calculate your SSI» is estimating, not measuring. The only real figure lives on LinkedIn's own Social Selling Index page, which you can check free with your own account.
It is an activity metric, not an outcome one. It rises as you complete your profile, find contacts, publish and interact, which makes it a useful indicator of consistency but a poor one of business results: you can hold a high SSI without having won a single client.
Used well, it shows which pillar is weak. If your «building relationships» score is the lowest, the problem is not your content but that you are not having conversations. Used badly, it becomes a number chased for its own sake.
